Mollie Curro’s thriving music program at Columbian Elementary continues to impress, with students once again earning a spot on the prestigious Colorado Elementary All State Choir.

Students are selected for the All State showcase through a competitive school audition process. This year, more than 50 students auditioned, with 10 selected to perform with the choir at The Broadmoor:

  • Sophia B.
  • Adelaide D.
  • Paisleigh M.
  • Charlize M.
  • Jordynn N.
  • Jace P.
  • Jayden R.
  • Zanielah S.
  • Raina W.
  • Hayden W.

The annual All State performance is reflective of the overall robustness of the program.

“At Columbian, our music program is built on the belief that every student deserves the opportunity to perform, grow, and experience success in music,” Mollie explained. “All students are exposed to a wide variety of musical experiences, including singing, ukulele, bucket drumming, recorder, and movement-based learning.”

The focus is on growth: "both student growth and my own as an educator,” Mollie said. “I regularly incorporate movement, games, and hands-on activities to help students learn new musical concepts in engaging and meaningful ways. Above all, I strive to create a learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired through music.”

Principal Jim Pool remains impressed at the quality of Mollie’s instruction.

“She does an amazing job. The number of staff and parents who compliment her in each program we have is amazing. I have never seen so many students love music. She is pretty awesome.”
